Leaking coolant

Check the driver side of the head, the thermostat is located there, it is a notorious leak.
You will want to get the car in the air as it will be easier to diagnose. There are multiple problem points; water pump, thermostat, and radiator, (these last few only pertain to supercharged models, as you don't have a pressurized expansion tank on a Cooper, nor do you have an oil cooler) expansion tank, coolant lines to oil cooler.
Look for obvious signs of coolant leak, if you are seeing it dripping it should be noticeable. You may need a pressure tester to find the leak if it is more reclusive.

Clean the area where leak is coming from real good, then drive the vehicle. Once the vehicle is parked, the pressure from the system will allow the coolant to leak out which should help you identify the location. The quickest way to find your leak is by conducting a pressure test on the system while the vehicle is cold, but this method should work also. Take a picture of the area where leak is noticeable and post for us to help. Good Luck!

Do you have a Cooper or Cooper S ? They both have the thermostat housing and thermostat on the side of the head on the driver side. Leaks coolant down the side on a little on the transmission. Cooper S , check the coolant expansion tank on the back wall.
Cooper #12
Thanks and good luck.
