My car, the Queen of the Shop!!!

It's been our bumpiest week ever since we got our MINI 18 months ago. Rewind to Sunday when the car wasn't accellerating when you hit the gas pedal but the RPMs were spiking... Tow it in to the shop and find out that was the clutch slipping, and oh by the way it's not covered by the warranty... There was no way MINI was going to cover this, I've made a promise not to discuss the root cause of the clutch problem.... However, after two days and a $1500 repair bill (of which $1200 was just for labor ) we got the car back.

Things were normal for a day, when this morning my wife calls me from the road to tell me that the A/C is on but there's no air flow... So back to the shop we go... This time the blower had gone bad, to replace it means dissasembling the dash board, including removing the A frame trim. Luckily this was covered by warrranty... Of course they don't have the replacement A frame pillars in stock, so we have to bring the car back next week to get the job finished!!!

What a crappy week, maybe next week will be better!

We've got a Cooper that hasn't been very problematic, this past week (thankfully) has been a major exception to the norm

Just out of curiousity, the A-frame covers are not reusable if you remove them?
Why? because of the airbag under there?

There's no way to remove the cover without breaking it. It's actually designed as a one time use item...
