Muffler Bracket

As anyone had an issue with the muffler brackets breaking? I noticed the bracket hanging low yesterday and was able to push it back up, I drove back home and it was down again. I figured a crew must've come loose but no the metal bracket is just broken like plastic. Any experience with this happening or am I just an odd case. Where could I find one of these brackets? Thanks for the help!

Yes, this has happened to me so you're not alone. The left one snapped on my '04 S about 4 years ago - looked to me like there's a spot on top which can collect water and salt, and it just rusted through over time. They are available readily from places like ECS Tuning - look up exhaust parts and they will be called "Clamp Bracket". The bottoms are the same left and right, but the upper pieces are different for each side - also pay attention to the production date as the hangers switched 01/2004. This is a reasonably priced replacement part.

There is a top and bottom bracket, and a left and right hand side for the top bracket also for the Cooper S stock exhausts. Keep in mind that 1/2004 split year on the parts:

So I need clarification. It's on US driver side so is that right or left? I've seen it both ways.

No problem , as per MINI US (LHD) and the catalog. Left = Driver side & Right = Passenger side .

Thanks

Think of it as a good excuse to buy a borla exhaust... They come with hangers welded on...
