Tink sound when rolling up window

So, my 2004 MCS has developed a sort of Tink sound when rolling up the drivers window. It sounds like something is hitting the glass as the sound comes just about equally from the glass beside my head and down in the door. This is in maybe the last inch of travel of the window, but before the top of the glass is hitting anything. Any ideas? I need to open that door anyway as the mid speaker died some time ago, but would love to have an idea first before I go ripping into it.

I can try to post a video as well later.

I have the same problem. Sounds like glass on metal right before it finishes closing.

Definitely a good idea to remove the panel and investigate further. This way you can see what exactly might be touching the glass as it moves. We have a window regulator tech article that can help you with the removal of the panel to take a look. It's on our site under MINI > tech info (tab at top) and then scroll down to Body, Chassis and Interior > Window Regulator Replacement.

Thanks. I removed the panel but couldn't see what might be causing it. The sound is coming from the left side of the drivers door. Sounds like metal and glass hitting as the window completely closes.

Did you closely investigate the motor and regulator to make sure that there are no issues present or wear showing from them?
