Unless, of course, they decide to do one more thing. Then it will be 2 more days.

Anatomy of a trip to the MINI Center:

1. Monday (3/21), diagnose
2. Tuesday (3/22), order parts
3. Wednesday (3/23), repair and re-diagnose
4. Thursday (3/24), put in new shifter; does not solve problem, order shifter cable
5. Friday (3/25), replace shifter cable, problem still not solved; call BMW tech service on for ideas on what to do (ends up being transmission)
6. Tuesday (3/29), get answer from BMW tech service - new transmisison
7. Wednesday (3/30), order transmission
8. Friday (4/1), get transmission and install; decide on new clutch, order clutch
9. Monday (4/4), install new clutch (hopefully nothing else to do).

Looks like they had Azuul for 14 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!
Unbeleivable! Has the dealer had your car all that time? You have shown incredible patience both with MINI Service and to a lesser degree with your car.

My transmission replacement timeline:

1. Take delivery w/ 15 miles on 3/22
2. Report/demonstrate shifter vibaration problem w/ 100 miles on 3/23
3. Transmission diagnosis on 3/25
4. Travel to Virginia for Easter on 3/26
5. Return from Virginia on 3/27
6. Transmission replacement started w/ 1100 miles on 3/31
7. Transmission replacement completed on 4/1
8. Break-in period completed at 11:00 pm on 4/1

Fortunately I was only w/o my car for the 2 days for the actual work was being performed. I don't believe I could have managed one more day in the piece-o-crap rental Camry provided by my dealer.

The car seems to be performing exactly as it should right now. Hopefully your car will be satisfactory as well. Keep us posted.

Yep, they had Azuul for 14 days, although I was on vacation for 4 of the days. The original idea was for them to have the car while I was gone and then be done when I returned.

So, I picked up Azuul this evening. Drove about 20 miles, and all seems well. Clutch and transmission are much more responsive (and quiet) than before. The true test will be this weekend when I have to drive to Dallas for a meeting.

Thanks for all of your assistance and support.
