What's wrong with my poor mini
I had my car idling and went back out to it. I was on a hill trying to take off then all of a sudden it started hopping when I was letting the clutch out. It died and I tried started it back and heard a squeaking noise. I turned it off and coasted into a parking spot. Popped and the hood and saw steam coming from the back right side and smelled burned brake fluid type smell. Pressed my clutch in and it went in about 1/8th in and stopped like something was behind it. Then finally it popped lose and went to the floor with no resistance. Let off the pedal did the samething. I poured slave cyclinder fluid in (DOT 4) into the reservoir because it was empty. Started pumping the clutch and the stiffness left but still was normal resistance like it usually is. I started the car, squealing happened, I pumped the clutch and tried to put it into first but nothing. The clutch pedal wants to stay at the bottom after pressing it in. Slave cyclinder bad, throw out bearing shot, bad pressure plate, clutch master cyclinder **** on me, or clutch go completely out? Someone please help!!!

I'm thinking possibly the slave cylinder... Maybe someone else will have a different suggestion. Typically, a spongy feel to the clutch pedal, grinding of gears when shifting, long pedal travel, and hydraulic leaks under the car are all signs that one or more components of the system have failed. The first place I like to start is the clutch slave cylinder, as it is easy to replace. You can read more about the system and how to replace it here. As far as the clutch, was there any sign that it was on its way out possibly? Slipping and or engagement issues? Can read up on the clutch replacement here.
Here is what sounds like a somewhat similar issue in this thread here.

Its sound like the slave cylinder that leaks and then goes, check for the fluid leak, it will leak into the transmission housing and then leak around the connection to the housing. Do you have any fluid on the floor ? Should be on the driver side in front of the transmission. Two bolts to hold it on and then replace it and the new fluid, they can be a paint to re-bleed.
Whats year and model do you have ?

Yes , take a look at the slave cylinder, under the engine / on the transmission right in front of the driver side. Look for fluid all around and on the bell housing of the transmission.

Replacement of the slave cylinder on the MINI is a snap. Its location is easy to get to from underneath the car. Look at this link here, which provides a step by step process of replacing it yourself.

The bleeding will take you a couple time. Please inspect the area under the transmission to rule out there is not a corroded line or something else. Then get the slave cylinder.
Good luck and hope you can get it fixed.

Since you lost fluid you must have a leak of some sort. The Slave cylinder is by far the most common to leak.
But with the other description you have of the feel and sound be prepared for more at those are not normal for just a slave failure.

Did you looks at the slave cylinder ? Or just think you burn the clutch , even when burn it would not go to the floor unless you damaged the pressure plate into the throw out bearing ?

For a clutch kit I would go with the Valeo / dual mass to single mass conversion.
Best cost option. And you will not have to replace that expensive dual mass flywheel , its replaced with the conversion kit.

If you're wanting to stick with OEM and not performance, I would recommend this one, 21-20-7-551-384-M37. Or you can stick with genuine MINI, which is listed below it here.
To save money, here is a DIY replacement.

The valeo dual mass to single mass kit is the best for cost. If you go with Genuine MINI we have linked the dual mass itself is a pretty penny.
Just wanted to let you know.
Good luck and glad I could help.
