Fenmore (2012 Justa) has recently developed a whistling sound coming from the passenger door window. The sound is only present when the fan is on, the windows are all closed, and the climate control is not in recirc. A/C or not makes no difference.

From prior reading, I think that the air outlet from the cabin may be blocked. Someone said something about the rear of the car--can anyone tell me where the outlet is?

In fact, if anyone can detail where the air comes in and where it exits, or better yet has a diagram, I'd be grateful.

A quick look through the Bentley manual did not show up anything of the sort.

 

The air out should be the forward bulkhead of the rear hatch lower facia ... If you have a bunch of stuff back there you might be blocking the vent...

Yes, thank you very much! OK, I'll check that at lunch today and see if anything wound up blocking it.

 

There was some blockage--some of the junk that's back there had shifted around. I got it out of the way, and now things are partly better.

The same whistling occurs, but only when the AC is not on. If I turn the AC on, or turn on recirc, the whistling stops. I'll do some actual cleaning-out of the back when I get home later today and see if that helps even more!
