R52 Motor mount leaking - How long will I be good for?
Just discovered my motor mount is leaking in my 06 R52 with 28k miles. I've already looked up the fix and have no problems doing it but its going to take a bit for me to get free time to install it.
I may not be able to get to it for 3 weeks or so, or roughly 800 miles. The mount isn't really noticeably broken in driving and the motor doesn't move much when I rock it, but I did notice some drips on my driveway and in the engine bay.
I was going to replace it with a vibra-technics as the TSW seems too harsh to daily drive. Can I JUST replace this mount or would it be wise to do anything else? Most people I've searched for seem to be doing just the (pass side) mount itself.
Thanks!
EDIT: I ended up replacing this mount with a vibra technics using MODMINI's video on youtube. I am very satisfied, but now wanting a BSH lower mount to go with it!
Overall I would recommend this, it creates a LITTLE vibration but makes acceleration, clutch pickup, etc way better.

It's kinda like having shocks that are wearing out -- there's no urgency but it would be nice to get it done at some point. You can let it go for months or even indefinitely, depending on your tolerance for the clunking and extra motor movement that will develop.
Yes, you can just replace the mount.

Drive it gently...
You will be OK for a month or so...
Extended use can stress the tranny mounts and clutch, but I went 3 weeks once it failed, was OK.
Drive on!!
And yes...the rubber oil filled balloon mount/ball can be replace by itself..I might suggest getting the bolt that goes with it..the goo that came out will corroded the old one.
I got about 30,000 miles at about $80 each for the OEM style mount ($180 installed by a shop for the OEM when I was lazy)...so sticking with it is OK for many...it works, and is cost-effective for a lot of miles...
