Coolant temp low after changing thermostat

Hi,
I changed out the thermostat after getting a code. The code went away after that. I bled the coolant to try to get all the air out. I didn't get it right on the first shot because briefly the temp spiked up very high, car threw a code, coolant was near the min line. I tried to re-bleed out any air and refilled coolant. Now, after reading the temperature, after 30 min of driving, the most I can get up to is around 55degC (131F).

Should I change the thermostat? Or could air in the system be causing the thermostat to remain open? I'm just wondering if it's worth trying to remove more air or not. The thermostat change took a long time, but maybe when the temp shot up, it got damaged?

thanks!

Is the CEL on with any new codes with how it's acting now after the install of the new thermostat?

There is no CEL or any indicators on throughout my last drive where I mentioned coolant temp stays pretty low.

There was a light after changing the thermostat when I described how I had coolant at the min line on the expansion tank (a 173b code), but that's been gone. It was a pending code that went away after I topped off the coolant and bled the system.

initially, a CEL code is what prompted the thermostat change (I think it was a P0599 or so). After changing the thermostat and resetting, that code has been gone since...

That's pretty low temp, what the coolant level in the front expansion tank ?

Did you follow the bleed procedure here:
