Yellow DTS failure light after pothole: worry?

An hour or so ago I was driving my r56 through Rockcreek Park in DC, when I hit a pot hole. The yellow DTS failure light came on, so I immediately pulled into a parking lot to pull out the manual and identify the warning. After identifying it as the DTS Failure light, I turned my MINI off and then restarted the engine. At that point, the light did not reappear. I ran the "Check" function, and there were no warnings. A few minutes later, I turned DTS off while driving for a few minutes, and then turned it back on, with no problems.

The manual instructs the owner to exercise caution and have the DTS system checked as soon as possible. Do you guys think I need to rush it to the dealer?

I would think that the manual instructions only apply if the warning light doesn't go out.

I would agree, but why would you have a light that appears and then goes out? This bugs me about the MINI warning light system.

Hitting the pothole caused some sensor to detect a condition and turn on the warning lamp. Perhaps in restarting the car that sensor does another test and doesn't detect the condition ... hence no warning lamp.

Sounds good to me! Any dissenting opinions?
