2006 High pitch whistle / whine in engine
Hi guys, I'm having issues identifying this high pitch noise, sounded almost like a kettle boiling whistle. I have changed all pulleys recently. The noise started to developed recently after a month right after I rebuilt my supercharger snout and changed all the pulleys as part of maintenance.
This whistle only occurs on Cold start and it gets loud at times during idle and quiets down by its own sometimes. I tried to blip the throttle to see if the noise increases but to no avail.. The noise gets away after driving for a couple of minutes. This whistling is getting worst now on cold starts / semi cold start.. To the point that I can't just ignore it any longer
Please help!

Sounds like a vacuum leak of some sort.
Why did you rebuild the snout of the SC?
Check for proper fitment of the intercooler boots, PCV line to the SC is connected properly, brake booster & MAP sensor sources properly fitted, did you get the green gasket seated properly? Clean and reinstall the steel gasket between the SC and intake horn?
Youtube is always a hard diagnostic suite, but those are the most common leaks. If you have 100% confidence that it isn't an exhaust leak then I would say find a stethoscope and listen to the belt drive system for bearing noise.

Seems like it's coming from the passenger side. If you're unable to determine the source yourself I'd maybe try and get a smoke test to see if you can pinpoint if/where a leak is in the system.
