Taking longer than usual to start

Hi all. So, had to replace fuel pump and filter a few weeks ago because I woke up and car wouldn't start. Was running perfectly fine for the next couple of weeks, but now once about a week ago, and twice this weekend, when starting up from a cold start, it's been taking longer than usual to start up. Haven't had it not start, but the first time it took maybe about a second, yesterday about 3, and now today about 5. Other than that it's been running perfectly fine, no loss in mileage, starting back up fun when warm, etc. Doesn't seem related to outside temp as it's been warmer this weekend. Haven't actually checked anything out yes in case it's just a hiccup.

On a semi-related note, also on cold start, if the outside temp is under about 45, shifting into drive seems to take a lot of power causes the rpms to drop and interior lights to dim. Also not an issue warm.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Have you tested the battery? The interior lights dimming could be a sign of a bad battery as when one is bad or on its way out, all sorts of weird electrical gremlins can happen. Test the battery first. If it's about 12.2 Volts or less, it's probably time for a new one. If you don't have the tools to test one, your local Autozone should be able to do it for you. Let me know if you have any questions.

Load test the battery, if ok and to voltage. Can you hear the fuel pump working ? It will whine in the back you you turn the ignition on.

What year do you have ?

Battery is a new battery, replaced end of the year last year and tests fine. I can't actually hear the pump over the other noise that occurs now that the seat is back on, but I've been trying the "turn the key but don't start it" trick and that seems to be working to get it to fire up right away. Car is an 04 base model.
