PCV to supercharger line

So this line from the valve cover does not want to go flush with the rib. The red fitting is not broken. I am afraid to force it down in there. Does anyone have any tips to getting this to fit flush?

I just had to remove this vacuum line today. Have you tried to push down on the red fitting while pushing the line back in?

Yes, I tried pushing on it and no dice. It may have been my fumbly fingers so I will try again. It looks like there is a green gasket/seal down in there that it is hitting the top edges rather than inserting into.

Make sure the end of the hose isn't damaged or have a butt that is catching the seal. Wipe the tip with a little motor oil will also help.

The tip of the line looks intact but I will inspect closer for burrs and butts.

Thanks Dave & Tonester, for the replies.

I've had those speed fittings fail in non automotive applications, plumbing or beer brewing without all the heat of an engine. A bit of grit can get in and foul it. I would try some Wd40 on it if it doesn't slide easily or get a replacement. GL

Thanks Moocher.

My primary concern is that internal seal and being careful is the name of the game for sure.

Success! There was a tiny lip on the end of the tube that I sanded off ever so gently. Upon closer inspection there is a green o-ring in the hole which is a tight fit. I lubed up the tube and used some firm persuasion to sink it in flush. Now it's seated perfectly.

Great, its a tight fit and must have been a little piece of plastic from the molding that needed sanded off

What would you call the red gasket/rubber piece that holds that line in to the supercharger? Mine is missing it.
