Windshield treatment

I have to replace my windshield due to a crack. Are there any glass treatments that can minimize future pitting, reduce rain streaking, etc.? TIA.

naw....not that I know of...it comes down to glass hardness....
Increasing following distance DOES help windshield life....
Rain-ex, aqua-pell, and other coatings help repel or make water bead up and blow off...
They work great when new...but can make things worse when wearing off if not reapplied....and the side effect is they can make glueing cracks and bullzizes harder or impossible...
At one point, a few companies were selling protective films that went around the outside edge to strengthen it and stop cracks...but most have disappeared.... windshields are just too cheap to spend extra $$ in hopes of having them last longer....
