Problems with my Drive door/Air bag ligth

Have a total of 3 problem List them in priority as of right now

1. Drive side window will not go down
2. Air bag light
3. Drive side door wont unlock/lock with buttons on key

My driver door wont unlock/lock with the remote on the key, but it will unlock and lock (as well as unlock and lock all the doors) with the keys (keys inserting into key hole). I had this problem since i purchased the car. Didn't care until my window stop going down last week.

I took off the interior drive side door panel today and when i click the switch to lower the window, I can hear the click on the motor at the door or whatever it is, but the window doesn't do anything. I don't even get the little gap when i open the door. I can live with the door not unlocking when i use the remote on the key, but the window not coming down is a problem. Looked at the Bentley manual and it said that when you click the switch it sends a signal to the BC1 and then the BC1 sends a signal to the motor it self. I'm going to assume that the signal wire just sends the instructions to open or close window, but the motor draws power from two separate wires.

Don't know if there is a fuse or relay i should be looking at, but i figure if it was a fuse or relay nothing would be working as far as i know and when i click the window switch something clicks or happens at the door/motor or whatever it is. I tried unplugging and plugging in the harness to see if this would do anything but it didn't. It has been having problem since i got it. Had to press the switch a little harder or twice some time 3 times to get the window to go down. I thought it was the toggle switches since it was loose/broken, so i purchased one and put it in today and that didn't fix anything.

I'm finally ready to test the car at a local track and will be going on June 26 (already paid for it before problem) and now this happens. The local track i run at require the windows to be down while on the track.

When i first got the car i took off the drive seat and didn't disconnect the battery and of course that set a Air bag light. I put it back together and i get this code which never clears and i can never get it off. Dont even know where to looks.

The drivers airbag light is for the bag in the steering wheel, you need to find out what is going on. Has the airbag been taken off? If the connectors aren't properly seated you could get a light illuminated.

The drivers window may need a new motor, have you tried the "Fonzy method" to get the window to roll down? Give the inner door panel a firm hit above the speaker, but below the inner door pull handle, does the window work? That would indicate needing a window motor.

How many keys do you have for the car? Do any of the keys unlock/lock from the remote?

You can try to reprogram the keys, but you may need a new key or battery replacement, depending on which key you have. We've also seen problems with some folk who install used BC1s where the locks don't work as they should.

Thanks for the reply.

I replaced the whole motor and carrier arms for the door. Before all that i tried the punching the door and that didn't work.

Regarding the keys I only have the one key. I'm able to unlock and lock everything else using the remote, but the driver side door. I have to use the keys to lock and unlock the door. When I use the keys to lock or unlock the driver door, I'm able to unlock and lock everything else as well. I purchased a use lock mechanism to see if it will work. Figure this has nothing to do with programming or I'm hoping it doesn't.

Regarding the air bag
The person i purchased the car from, had an aftermarket steering wheel. so yah he swap it back to the stock before selling it to me. I wasn't sure if it was the wheel air bag or the seat airbag/sensor. The only thing i had uninstalled was the seat and after that i got that code. Ill try to remove it and reinstall it and see if it works. All this time i thought it was the air bag/sensor on the seat.

The driver's side door lock issue is most likely to be the door actuator. It's a weak spot on the early models and the best solution is simply replacement with a new one- they are better built and more robust in my opinion. They're kind of a PITA to replace, lots of reaching into spaces you can't see trying to snap things into place, etc. Once you do it you won't really want to do it again and that's why I recommend a new one.
