VANOS problems 2007 MCS

I am having issues with my MCS from 2007. The problem is engine jerks from 1500 to 2000 rpm and is pretty rough to drive. When I clear codes (and reset fuel trims in process) it is driving good for 10-15 minutes until it learns fuel trims and then it starts again. I have noticed that LTFT goes to almost -30%. I am getting P0012 ("A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 1)) code, but rarely (once in 10 days maybe). And now the funny thing when I disconnect connector from vanos solenoid everything starts to act nice. LTFT goes to zero, and car drives real nice. I have replaced vanos solenoid, vanos one way check valve and vanos cam sprocket. Timing chain set is new (couple of hundred miles old). I have checked timing of cams and it is all good. What am I missing here? I am running out of ideas what else to check...

I have been playing around a bit more. I have tried disconnecting plug from vanos solenoid installed on engine and plugging it to another solenoid outside the engine (that way I do not get cel light for open circuit)...and engine acts fine in that state, fueling is ok and it drives nice. It seems like ECU is sending some wrong information to the solenoid to over retard the inlet cam therefore engine does not get enough air and that is causing too rich situation. Any thoughts? Is there a way to ''reset'' vanos regulation?
