looking to buy 2010 Clubman S
My 2008 Mini S was recently totaled by a drunk driver. I am now looking to buy a 2010 Clubman S. Is there anything (problems or issues) I should be aware of or looking for? My 2008 Mini S assumed a quart of only @ every 1000 miles I had heard this is normal is this true? And should I expect the same of a 2010 Clubman S. Appretiate any advice. Frank

I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet, but I'm going to jump in here and say that my 2010 Clubman S burns not a drop of oil after ticking off 42K.
YMMV, but looking for the N18 engine may be the wise course.
Issues to look for in the N14:
I certainly monitor my MINI more closely than I do the Honda's in my driveway, but it is worth it because it is WAY more fun.

Issues to look for in the N14:
- Timing chain (check if it has been swapped or has update tensioner)
- High Pressure Fuel Pump (10 yr 120K warranty now, I believe)
- Thermostat housing leakage
- Water pump failing (I had to replace mine)
- Carbon build up in intake valves
- Turbo oil line feed leakage
I certainly monitor my MINI more closely than I do the Honda's in my driveway, but it is worth it because it is WAY more fun.
