Fan!!!!!!!!

I just purchased a 2006 MCS, because I bought it used there is no warranty. I have owned the car two weeks and went out yesterday find a dead battery. Replaced the battery yesterday to find it dead again. Apparently the fan is continually running thus killing the battery. I have a private mechanic but am considering taking it to my local mini dealer. I have searched the forum and see this seams to be common problem. Any advice?

Look carefully...
It might be the PS motor...it SOUNDS like a fan. Some years have a recall, but the 2006 is not one.
The radiator fan is only about $100, and the PS fan is about $180 last time I looked for the parts (non mini OEM) ...the PS fan is a 5 minute job...2 screws and a plug, the radiatorfan, maybe a couple hours...
But like I said...investigate...the sound is VERY LIKLY the PS pump. It is electric, and when the electronics fail, it fails to turn off.
