Knocking/clunk on Acceleration

My 2003 Cooper has a knock/clunk when i start from stop sometimes.
It also knocks when accelerating not necessarily when changing gear though!
It sounds like the passenger side not sure rear or front hard to tell.

Had a few people drive with me to have a listen but it seems you need to be driving for quite a while and then stop for it to happen.

A BMW specialist said everything looks perfect but it still clunks.
Engine mounts replaced and he said there isnt a passenger side one!

Is there a passenger side engine mount??

Thanks
Kris

There is a rubber hydraulic mount on the passenger side, it's big, black and obviously an engine mount. Use a pry bar to check the mount, basically pry underneath the edge of the engine block and watch that mount, chances are that if it's never been replaced that it is wasted.

Here's a link to our website, we have a picture of what it is supposed to look like and what many of them come out looking like. http://www.detroittuned.com/mini-early-motor-mount/

Thanks for the info, really apprecite it,, does it make a difference u.k to u.s model?
My car is uk.

The engine might be positioned the same but the driver on the left??

The knock/clunk seems to be getting worse the more time passes.

Antiroll bar bushes and rear axle arm bushes need changing as they are old, hoping its this but the mini specialist keeps saying it might be the engine mounts even though they look very new!

Going to pick up the car today and will find out where this is!

Anyway hope this has solved the issue.

Yikes. I thought mine was good, but the comparison picture shows that it decidedly is not.
