Need help fixing p1688 and p1237

Hey all,

So my mini has been giving me a bit of trouble lately. The main problem associated with my ses's Have been a hessitation around 3krpms and going into limp mode between shifting.

My car has:

Alta CAI
WMW 15% pulley
Alta IC boots
Alta 0% crank pulley
BPV zip tied shut
and the belt is one month old

I did check the crank pulley to make sure its still torqued, put a witness mark on it too. It seems like day by day its making a little less power, but i cant say for sure. My obd2 gauge has me at 15.5psi, but I have to be right at redline to get there.

Any suggestions of what to try? I should be able to have no ses's with the bpv zip tied right?

For 1688 it could be a few things. Some good info here that might help you diagnose the cause: http://oemdtc.com/1453/low-power-p16...-mini-cooper-s. From what I've seen I'd think both codes may be related to the BPV.

Look at the alta ic boots....they are nearly impossible to put on right....one might have slipped off...giving you a boost leak.

So it seems like my next steps should be a vacuum system and boost system pressure test. Really can't imagine what else it'd be, from what I've read the map and tmap rarely fix this issue.

Just today I made a intake boost leak tester. Had a air regulator in place of my air filter pressurizing the system. I found one problem, a nipple on the passenger side of the intake manifold had its hose come off. Got it attached securely.

The car runs much smoother and the power band is very consistent, no hiccups in the 3k range.

However I am still getting both ses's. Despite the smoothness the car seems to have lost its edge. It feels like it's making less power. Initially I though I must have broke the zip tie keeping the bpv shut, but that's still very secure.

Anyways I'm still on the hunt for how to fix the two ses's. Is it possible that I ruined my sensors by having that big leak? I would rather not have to spend a bunch of money.

The fact that you have an Alta crank pulley would lead me to check if it is spinning on the crank. Quite common with the Alta and M7 crank pulleys, we see them either back the bolt out, (or it's finger tight), or they just spin on the crank.

Broken MAP sensor source on the black intake duct, the black intake duct being cracked at the plastic welds, faulty sensors could also be causing issues.

You need to do a bit more diagnostic.

I haven't had the time to update since now, but my ses did go away. However my lower power issue is still present.

Additionally I did check my crank pulley. It was still torqued to spec. Put a witness mark anyways, but haven't check it.
