2009 mini cooper rough idle help

Hello,
This is my first post as this is my first time having any major issues with my vehicle besides some oil loss which i was trying to locate.

2009 mini cooper base @ 111k miles. The other night the check engine light came on and i had a loss of power at RPMs lower than 1500. The codes read misfire on cylinder 1,2 and 3.

The spark plug for cylinder 3 had the electrode completely missing. Took a magnet around the cylinder and it was not there. Also noticed that there was oil on top of the plugs.

I went ahead an replaced all the plugs/coil packs and the valve cover gasket.

The engine now has really rough idle and dies until warmed up and then sometimes is still rough. All codes are still there alone with cylinder 4 misfire, idle bank 1 lean and MAF rationality and range monitoring.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

That spark plug electrode had to go somewhere, hopefully out the exhaust. To be sure, try a compression or leak-down test --- might also help finding where the oil on the plug's coming from. Worst case, the electrode made its way past the rings and ate the cylinder wall / piston.

Good luck.

I will try a compression test tomorrow. The oil was on top of the plug, where the coil connects so i was assuming it was the valve cover gasket. I will be able to confirm that tomorrow as well to see if any is in there. So far today the idle has improved but significant hesitation from a stop until RPMs hit about 1100

i recommend not driving the car until you do a compression test. you may be damaging your engine further more. If you dont have the tool, remove the plugs and have someone start the car while you (FROM A DISTANCE) see if air is being pushed out with "force".
