HPFP part numbers and cut in date

Hi,
I have a 2011 Clubman S. Had read here it had a Continental fuel pump. And that later a new HPFP was cut in from Bosh. I was curios the year range of the Continental. Looked at RealOEM to see when the pumps were used. In summary my Continental looks like it was only produced from June 2010 to March 2012. And I recall reading the Bosch that replaced it has a different head so is not backward compatible. So I hope over time the part won't be hard to acquire.

Can an earlier HPFP part#13517588879 (N14 I think) be used in place of the Continental part#13517592429 (N18 I think)?

Is there any reliability difference between a Continental and Bosh?

As a side note, RealOEM does not have part numbers for 2012 April.

13517588879 4/18/06 to - (maybe May 2012 it did not say)
Supersedes these
13537528345 9/1/06 to 3/21/07
13517573436 3/6/07 to 4/21/08

13517592429 Jun-10 to Mar-12 <-- this is the Continental I think.

no part # Apr-12 to ? <-- this is the Bosh I think

Not totally sure about the who makes what and from what date to what date. But I do know the N14 HPFP is NOT interchangeable with N18 HPFP. I had an issue with my countryman and wanted to change that piece, so i got the HPFP from my 08 clubman and long be hold, it did not fit.
they are built differently and the bolting holes are in a different location. I hope that helps.

Thanks, yes, that answers one of the questions. Sorry you went through that frustration.

Another question:
If down the road I put in a later N18 motor (i.e. the head will no longer with with the Continental pump) will the Bosch pump plug and play with the harness and ECU/software?

Thanks!

not a problem brother...sometime it can be tricky and no one likes to waste money trying things..lol As long as the HPFP is for an N18, it should be plug and play. the year does not matter as long as it is '11+. it can also be from a HT or a countryman. no difference.
i has an issue with my pump few weeks ago and i thought it was toasted, after ordering a used one, it seemed that my pump was ok..lol i think it got stuck for a while but it resumed working fine til now...the car is under construction though...check my thread about "flooded or struck by lightening"

Here is a related post:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-question.html

So, have answers for:
1. N14 pump work with N18, nope
2. 13517592429 used Jun-10 to Mar-12 (the Continental I think) work with later Bosh, nope due to head, computer/harness, fuel rail.
3. Bosh pump work with MINI that had 13517592429 (i.e. June 2010-March 12)? Nope due to head, computer/harness, fuel rail.
4. Is Continental less reliable? One person says more troublesome

So if my motor blows in the future I know I can only use a 2011 motor to replace it.

Thanks!
