Sunroof closes real slow

My sunroof closes real slow. Almost comes to a stop about halfway for an inch or so but it gets through this "bad" spot and continues slow until closed.
Is the motor going bad or does the track need lube?

I sprayed some PB Blaster silicone lube on a few spots and now it closes quite well.

the old grease on the mechanism and tracks is probably turning into wax .... had a similar problem with my 95 Miata after about 10 years the windows began to up/down very slow. Part of the problem was what I mentioned - lube turning into glue. Best fix is to clean out the old and re lube ... but that is easier said than done. WD-40 is pretty good at melting old grease ... just watch where things want to run! As you discovered a lil fresh spray can loosen things up, but the old stuff is still there and you are eventually gonna get a build up ....

If the sr works better when it is warm you have additional proof this is the problem ....

I spray (silicone) a dab in each track about every 6 months just for piece of mind. The smoother it runs the longer the motor should last. If you have never cleaned it before, might be a good time to clean up the track and regrease/respray.

Like stated above, the old grease may be gumming things up and forcing your motor to run harder.

My sunroof is completely stuck in the open position. It worked fine when I went to the store, but when I tried to close before getting on the interstate, it would not close. Any ideas?

Moving you to the Stock Problems/Issues area. I look at ECS as the Gen1 Vert Pro as he still has his. Have you thought about giving them a call?

I am here You will have to disconnect the motor from the sunroof portion and try to align it straight and pull it forward. It might have just got hung up. Then clean the rails and grease them. I would check the cables and look up through the motor where the cables come through, one might have snapped. If it did and then hung up , you will need to replace them. Link below on how the system works.
