02 sensor gone bad
#2
Make sure everything upstream of the O2 sensor is good first.
Which code ode did your car report?
Whatever you do, get the NGK 25648. From what I saw on searches, best to get the factory part and not the Bosch or some other generic brands.
My son's car made it to 219K miles till the rear O2 went bad. We checked everything from the throttle body, MAP sensors, vacuum lines, and exhaust inspected for leaks.

I forgot to ask Advanced guy what the number was but he said oxy sensor. This confuses me as I too bought the NGK 25648, but it was only last July and put 30,000 miles on it. Wondering if it still might be the gas cap. Light went off on Friday and has stayed off since (got gas on Friday). Would a gas cap throw the same code? Gas mileage has stayed the same too...

My car had been throwing a code for a few months and finally got around to getting one fo the NGK Sensors...tried and tried to get the O2 sensor off but it won't budge and I didn't feel up to taking the exhaust off...I have been running Seafoam through it for a few months off and on...always 93 Oct ...I did a complete ECU reset and the O2 sensor hasn't shown back up...Oh...145K with original exhaust on our R50.

There's two O2 sensors so there would be two different codes.
P0132 - Bank1 Sensor 1 - Upstream
P0136 - Bank1 Sensor 2 - Downstream
There's also a particularly fun one also,P02096. Could be a number of things upstream or could also be a bad post cat O2 sensor.
Which O2 sensor did you replace?

A one ball wouldn't affect the oxygen sensors in the slightest, you could have a number of things going on:
1. Actual sensor problem
2. Catalyst faults
3. Vacuum leaks
4. Electrical problem (shorts, broken connections)
5. Even throttle body problems
You should find a quality scan tool and have a diagnostic done, sometimes people think they need an oxygen sensor it turns out to be a small exhaust leak or vacuum leak.
But if you do end up needing a sensor, we have them in stock ready to ship.

Also, Cenla Mini, how did you reset the ECU? Might be worth trying as well.

I've bought several $15 ABS sensors with happy results but if you're in a SMOG state - sometimes the few bucks difference is worth the time with these parts. When looking at the socket in the third picture of that amazon listing - the two channels on the bottom inside of the socket are slightly offset on an OEM r50 o2 sensor. Just pulled mine and had this issue...

O2 sensor repaired
When I removed the O2 sensor, I found that the insulation on the wires had been rubbed off. I wrapped each wire individually in electricians tape and then another layer wrapping the all 4 wires then re-installed the sensor. My check engine light went out so I am hoping this fixed the problem.
