I need help please

I have a 02 mini Cooper s and the engine decided to throw a rod today.

my question is can I use the motor from a non superchargered mini on mine? Like I just need the engine I don't need the supercharger or anything else. I'm hoping I can just swap out parts and get back to driving my beloved mini

I think the blocks were identical, the heads were different.

I don't believe the standard block has the oil squirters for the pistons. I guess they could be plugged, but not sure since I've never seen the innards on a justa.

I know it's a different crank in the S versus the non, so id assume there are other differences as well.

The pistons are different with a compression ratio of 10.5:1 instead of the 8.3:1 in the W11. The different crank also uses a different balancer since the snout sizes are different. IIRC the W11 crank is forged instead of cast

As above folks have pointed out the lower end is different between the two cars, as well as the exhaust valves are different in the S.

Pistons are different, Crank, associated bearings, rods, oil squirters on the S, inconel valves on the S.

We do have a rebuilt S engine that we're just finishing putting together, if you're still in the market for an engine give us a call and we can help you out.

How much? It'll be a month or two before I can put up the money to buy an engine sadly.
