I have recently purchased a Mini Cooper S 2005 model and during test drive after replacing the fuel pump I accelerated at the bottom of a hill to test the performance only to here a loud bang. I quickly moved to the side of the road and noticed a stream of oil behind the vehicle and had even sprayed on the back window. The engine became extremely hot immediately and melted the edge of the plastic engine cover. Further inspection showed the rocker gasket had blown out at the rear of the engine, but I am guessing the problem would be more than just this. Do yo have any suggestions.

For that vintage Mini, I'd suggest you pose the same question in the 1st gen section --- lots more expertise there for your car.
