Replacing the clutch and maybe flywheel?
Hello! First post here...
I bought an R52 Cool Blue with only 67k on the odometer. I took it in today for the recall and the tech said my clutch was on its last leg and needed replacement.
They quoted me $2700 without a flywheel.
I can do the job myself so I'm looking at the Valeo 52001202 clutch kit.
I'd like to go ahead and order a flywheel and replace it while its out. I see that there's a one piece conversion for the S model, but mine is the base.
First question: Is there a one piece for the R52 base 5 speed?
Second question: If not, what flywheel should I buy to replace the OEM?
Thanks!

The Non S cars already have a solid steel flywheel so you don't need to convert it.
I would also recommend the Original MINI clutch kit as I've not had great luck with the aftermarkets like the Valeo.

And if you want a flywheel the lightweight Aluminum one is actually cheaper than stock and lighter

The R52 came as a "justa" and a S. To get more confusing when ordering parts there were also models in both 07 and 08 that will trick some part places into telling you that the S car has a turbocharger.
