no power at fuel pump

Hello again everyone, an update on my son's 2007 cooper s. We had the cylinder head machined and cleaned at the time it was pressure tested and all is good. with everything reinstalled it cranks but will not start. we have noticed that the noise for the lpfp is absent. we checked the voltage and there is nothing at the pump and it does not mater if the key is on or not. we checked the relay in the fuse panel and it is ok but gets warm when plugged in. we tried to jump out the relay and still no power to the fuel pump. i am going to assume this will keep it from starting. we have connected everything and tried to start it and pulled the spark plugs and we do not even smell fuel on them. is there a problem with the wiring that anyone knows about? is there anything telling what color is for what.

Thanks

Bentley manual has wiring diagrams and instructions how to read them. There's also a fuse that could be out --- illustration on the fuse panel cover (near passenger door) has an obvious gas symbol. Best of luck ---
