Please help !!! Coolant tank looks real dirty and seems like actual dirt inside tank

I have a 2008 Mini Cooper s turbo from Canada , I bought about 6 months ago with 65xxx miles on it , I drive 160 miles a day round trip to work mon-fri so I'm putting a lot of miles on it but keep up with oil changes usually ... I noticed about 4 months ago that when I get on the highway and get on the gas it kind of boggs out for a second then goes but a little white puff of smoke comes out the exhaust (I think) , this only happened less than 10 times in 4 months , also replaced water pump about 5 months ago , small oil leak on the turbo oil return line I think it's called ... just didn't know if you needed to know history and other issues to determine what may be the cause of the dirty coolant ... thank you in advance for all feedback I'm new to mini coopers but love them and want to keep it on the road ... also if the bogging out isn't related to the coolant issue does anyone have an idea of what that could be ? Maybe bad fuel or filter ? I have no idea ... thank you ! I'm trying to attach pics I took of the tank now ... could the coolant have been dirty when mechanics filled it after the water pump issue ? I used to have to keep topping it off before I got it fixed ... I ran my finger on the inside of bottle and just seems like actual dirt

Either is wetter water was added to just the expansion tank or work done and not flushed or I hope not dex cool, because that's for GM engines.

I took to a Mini Cooper mechanic so hopefully he put the right fluid in ... so should I just do a flush could it be that simple ? Do you think any of the other issues are related ?

Moving you to the Gen2 Stock Problems/Issues area. You should get better coverage for answers.

First thing I would do is flush that coolant and put in some MINI new blue coolant mixed 50/50 with distilled water. Then keep an eye on it for color change, if n0 color change then you should be fine. Are you sure the puff of smoke is white? Or is it black like carbon burn up. If its white it has me worried about a small coolant leak. I would have someone watch if and rev it up from idle once the cars warmed up. the smell of the exhaust will be sweet like coolant and very white smoke, thats after it warmed up.

No need to be sorry, rather have you ask a question than ask no question at all.

I guess it may not be white I just catch it in the rear view mirror quick ... and it's very infrequent so I never know when it will happen but I will try what you said thank you ... also the coolant tank fluid level never changes and I never have anything under the car unless you think only when I'm driving and could leak from somewhere else
