Not good.... my rear fog light fell out and hung by its wire against my exhaust. Fog light never stood a chance!

 

Seen those pop out before. With new one make sure it's in right side up so tabs grab as they should. Also, there's a tang which is welded into the rear bumper carrier. The tang has a bolt hole to secure the center back bumper cover to, cover has a tab with hole it should line up with. I believe it's a torx bolt with washer. If the bumper tab and rear bumper carrier frame are not secured together at this area, it allows the bumper cover to be pushed, popping the light out. Especially if your knee gets up against it while taking groceries out of the back..check that when you can before installing new one.

^^+ 1 Yes, they pop out when people hit bumps or they are not clipped in all the way. Also when the bumper is not mounted well enough and it flexes.
