I think this is a bad part

Is it supposed to do that?
Can this be glued back together?

It was good until you messed with it with the puller.

It's a failed crankshaft dampener pulley, and I'm pretty sure it failed on the car, and not as a result of "messing with it with the puller."

This is how the pulleys fail, and nope, they're not repairable.

The point of my post was your reply which suggested that the O.P. messed this up with a puller...

You did say...

"It was good until you messed with it with the puller."

Not sure of another way to interpret that, but do let us know if there is...

Yes, yes, and yes... this happened while driving.. it started smelling like something was burning while I was at Lowes, I parked it got a ride home and came back and drove it home at night(no ac needed). I checked out the car and found a bad ac coil, once I had it off I noticed oil behind the pulley so since I was there... that's how I found these item...thank you lord... now I ordered parts from every NON EBAY source...(sorry but I don't by driveline parts from ebay!)

It may cost me more, but what price can you put on peace of mind

I think the AC coil going bad caused this to fell. When it went bad it would stop the belt from moving.

  • Change the o-ring for the crank position sensor.
  • With your miles, unless the front and back crank seals have been replaced I would do them too.
  • If your clutch/flywheel of unknown driving style of PO has more than 50k I would change that too.
  • Check closely other pulleys including the belt tensioner and idler wheel, and ribbed belt, assuming you have a S. Most would recommend you replace the belt tensioner since you have the engine out.
  • There are others but I am not qualify to suggest as my experience is limited to my Mini with 43k that I own and service since new.
