09 S P0136 and 141
Hey guys, New here and facing an issue we can't seem to figure out at mini. I work for mini here in Utah and have bought an 09 s. I can't for the life of me get the check engine light to stay off for the p0136 and 141 codes for O2 sensors. I have replaced the DME harness and downstream O2 as the PO installed a universal and hacked the wires. We assumed that was the issue but the problem has persisted. I have cleared the adaptations and done a full reprogram on the car. I really need this light to go off so we can get it registered and so I can enjoy this car. I am thinking about either tuning and or using a simulator on the sensor to get proper readings.
Thanks in advance and I appreciate any and all advice, Zack

I suggest you work with the nearest Manic tuner --- explain your problem and what you want. Even with no mods, and assuming nothing but O2 sensor problems, a Manic tune will noticeably increase performance. As I understand it, O2 sensors are easily tuned out. If none are available locally, it's common to mail the ECU to them for reprogramming --- usually a quick turn-around.

I used INPA to read codes on my BMW Z3. The description came back as certain O2 sensors, but for some reason, it was the wrong two that were being flagged. After asking for help on Bimmerforums, it was explained that the codes didn't match what the description said. So I replaced the other two and the problem was solved.
I suppose you're not using INPA at the dealership, but figured I'd throw this into the thread for the benefit of others later on.
