Overheating issues

So my 05 Mini has been overheating on me for some time now, at first I thought it was the fan, due to the fact that it didn't even turn on. But when I replaced it the problem persisted. I've changed the thermostat as well and still no difference. I have noticed that all the coolant in the resorvoir starts to bubble and if the car is left on long enough, it'll all just pour out over the top. Any tips, thoughts, or anything really would be greatly appreciated!!

Going to move you to the Gen1 Stock Problems/Issues area.

A little more information would help, r50 or r53 (supercharged), how many miles, water pump ever been changed? Help us try to help you.

Most likely a failed coolant expansion tank, or in the least the tank's cap.

If the tank doesn't hold pressure due to a split at the center seam (very common if tank is old), or if the cap fails to hold pressure (also common), the engine will overheat.

It's the base model not the supercharged, honestly not sure if it's the water pump but I'll have that checked today

I've actually had to buy several caps due to the fact that they always pop right off and get lost
