My car (2006 Mini S convertible) has the air bag system warning light. The code reader shows a code for the explosive switch that disconnects the battery in the event of an air bag deployment. The shop I'm using says they would have to replace the whole cable (runs length of car) and that there is no guarantee that would solve the problem. They said they thought there used to be a kit to replace just the switch, but that now they can't find it. this sounds like the reason I'll sell it, but i hate to do that because otherwise, i am totally happy with it. Any thoughts?

 

Moving you to the Stock Problems/Issues area. ECS has allot of electrical knowledge on the MINI, have you checked their site out?

 

If its a GREAT car and you are going to keep it forever...I would bring it to the Mini dealer..

These cars are " quirky" and might be an easy fix.

Sometimes....we just have to go to the dealer
