2006 rear seat BACK removal

I know there is ( should be) a very simple way to do this.

I just need to install the bushing that goes to the post on the bottom side.

Any help / advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Michael

You need a stout flat blade screwdriver. Fold down the back rest and look closely at the center hinge bracket that is shared by both L and R side. First remove the 10mm locking bolt. Then look for a steel tab that you can use the flat blade screwdriver to rotate it about the hinge shaft. That unlock it and you can lift the back rests out of the center hinge. Very clever design.

YES !!!

BOTH are very much appreciated.

Like most...I am a visual person...so SEEING it done was what I was waiting for.

Thank you again !!!

Not sure why there are 2 holes on the side when there is only ONE post on the seat to fit in to ????

stopped by the Mini dealership to pick up the bushing. Its different than original, and I was not sure it would work.
The senior tech Joel was in the area and I asked him if he had a minute to take a look.

He installed it and put the seat in( about 30 seconds).

He asked about the bolt. I said it was missing. he said he has one in his toolbox.

brought it out and GAVE it to me !!!

As far as dealerships go........ Mini of Peabody is by FAR the BEST I have EVER dealt with.
Its not based just on this transaction. From day ONE.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!
