Help with code P0108: North Cal

Hey guys,

I've been doing some problem solving at home chasing this code unsuccessfully. Could anyone please recommend a shop in east bay, or area, that has proper experience to fix this issue.

I've tried MAP sensor. Spark plugs look good.

It occurred at a track event last weekend.

Any advise is appreciated

Moving you to the Stock Problems/Issues area.

You check your intercooler boots?

Any time you have a MAP sensor related fault I would recommend starting with a smoke test, as well as a visual inspection of all of the vacuum/boost system.

The last car I fixed a problem with P0108 was the fuel pressure regulator line had fallen off the intake manifold, but there are a handful of other problems that can lead to that code.

Two MINI shops I've heard good things about in the East Bay are Bay Bridge Motors in Oakland and Edge Motorworks in Dublin.

Do you by chance have a smaller pulley on your car? Usually when at the track this cel can be thrown if you are running close to redline for extended periods, what is happening is the ECU is seeing the increased boost and it is now close to the threshold of the map sensor.

I had this happen at an HPDE event, and initially freaked out until chatting with some of the other drivers at which point I was told it can be common place. In these instances I cleared the code and it has never come back, I also changed a bit of my driving style and shifted slightly sooner as to not over-boost.
