6 speed transmission bearing replacement

Has anyone put bearings in a 2002 6 speed manual transmission.

Looking for some suggestions / tips / tricks to take it apart and have the bearings pressed in.

Thanks.

Unless you have the special tools etc. I would suggest you look into a exchange trans from BMW with a full warranty.

Thanks Montana -

I pulled the case apart, but as you mentioned..looks like I would need some special tools.

Any ideas what kind of special tools are necessary? I have a blown gearbox sitting in my backyard!

Not sure exactly what is needed. At a minimum, some of the bearings are pressed against the case, so there needs to be some special tool to remove the bearings/races.
