Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
I took a small drill bit and put two holes within that area, makes it much easier to see the oil level. Did this on my R53 as well and no issues with the holes weakening the end of the stick.
Both are great ideas. I don't know why they went with this design. Metal dipsticks with the two holes are much easier to read. I did order a new dipstick. Maybe it being brand new will allow the oil to show up better. Thanks for the suggestions.

i just press the end on to a paper towel and kind of roll it a bit. its easier to see the oil on the paper towel and see where to corresponds to on the dipstick
