The factory wiring harness threads through a rubber grommet just under the steering linkage on the cockpit side of the firewall. If you look under the steering wheel with the kneepad removed (it just pops out) you will locate it. The best way to do it is to sharpen the end of a hangar, tape the wires to it, and poke a hole in the rubber grommet to just get the wire harness on the other side of the firewall. Be careful when you reach down on the engine side - you sharpened the hanger, remember. After you get the wires through, untape them and pull the hangar back through the way you fed it. That will make just enough of a hole to get the wires through but keep the integrity of the grommet.

Good luck!
