Driver heated seat inop

I have search my problem and there are old threads that say it should be covered under warranty. But I just got an '09 so that's not going to happen. Press button and light comes on for a while and then it goes off,no heat. Passenger side seem to work. Is there anything I should check? beside saying I need a new seat for $700 bucks

Thanks I'm a noob to these cars.....only put 40 miles on it so far and lovin' it should have gotten one years ago

Check the fuse, then check the connection under the seat itself. There is a wire that comes up the bottom and up the back side. I bet its loose or the wire somehow got cut. The light should not shut off regardless if it works or not. But who know, MINI changes things from year to year.

Ok , yikes that bad. Made me think of this for the gen 1 MINI: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...c-problem.html

or

Gen 2 ( yours) I would get the carbon version.

Check the wires for the heated seats going to the Footwell module FRM. Also check the plugs going to the back of the buttons on the dash itself.
Wiring diagrams.

thanks, it seems to be if the lights on the heated seats blink an go out it's the heating pad. but no power at all seems weird, I did swap kick panel fuse box 2 weeks ago, due to no power from the box to the fuel pump. so with the info you gave me I will start there.

I did test all the fuses, f39 f 40 and f 32 they all had a little under 12 volts. I found a video to pull the dash apart to check the switches to see if they have power / back probe them. if they do have power. it seems odd that both switches went out at the same time?

cause it's been summer, and my mind had been else were that heated seats got forgotten about. I just rechecked the voltages, on fuse f39 and f40 I have a little under 12 volts, at fuse f32 I have nothing. fyi : I did swap fuse boxes last winter for a fuel pump replay issue ( wasn't the fuse box) as it turns out. but this current box is missing spots for fuses f2 20amps and f4 30amps looks to me that fuse 41 is needed ? # f41 20amps is missing to. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/r...-fuse/6qPQq4dy my old fuse box has all these spots, and fuses in them
i'm not great with wiring, but it looks like I need to swap the old box back in .??

thanks for your help
