Supercharger Replacement

I've been searching the forums for a while and haven't seen much on this subject. I'm sure I'm missing it so please post links if this conversation has been had.

I need to replace my supercharger on my 03 s. I know that sprintex isn't the way to go. What I am wondering now is if there is a difference between the s and jcw supercharger. If so, should I try to bolt one on to my stock s engine? Or, is the best bet to stay stick with a smaller pulley? Any advice is appreciated.

Moving you to the Stock Problems/Issues area. The superchargers got teflon coating in 05 (both JCW and S). Have you checked out the Gen1 Mod - Drivetrain section yet? That is where you will find lots of information on different ways to get more HP/Tq out of your Tritec engine.

Lots of info here on the stock superchargers. Gen 1 section is the best place to find info.

Yes you can directly bolt on the JCW supercharger and it will not only work fine, but also make more power as it has a 13% pulley on it.

But most people actually install a 15% pulley as it will make a little more power.

Either way you will also need to go to a shorter belt and colder heat range plugs with either option. No tuning is required as the ECU is smart enough to compensate for the extra boost.

We would also do the water pump at the same time.
