Issues with Locking

Hi, I recently purchased a 2010 Mini Cooper, and locking the car with the remote has been giving me issues. I can unlock it and open the trunk just fine, so I don't think it's a battery issue, but sometimes it takes a few minutes of me standing next to my car, uselessly hitting the lock button to finally get it to lock. Sometimes it locks on the first try. It's a little frustrating, especially since it's freezing cold out now and standing out in parking lots/my driveway is not ideal. I'm just wondering if there's any trick to it? I've tried holding it down, waiting intervals of 5-10 seconds before trying, aiming it at the car door. I don't know.

My mom's car locked effortlessly today and I can't tell you how jealous I was. I'd really appreciate any help, I feel like an idiot when I'm at the grocery store, stuck in the parking lot because it takes ages for my car to lock.

Thanks in advance!

Mine came with two remotes...did you only get one? I'd try a new battery in the remote and if that doesn't work maybe lock it with the key? I've never tried that, so I don't know if it will lock the whole car or not.

New battery first if you have the Comfort Access. Do you have that or the stock key?

Hi! Thank you for getting back to me. I only received one set of keys with the car, but I recently discovered that you can manually lock it (I feel a little silly about that). The other two buttons work fine so I'm just going with it for now.

Thanks again!

Welcome. Yes, you can use the little pop-out blade key and lock it manually.
