Hi Forum .
I have a 2007 Mini cooper S R56 Turbo , and I have an issue with the RPM just jumping between 500 and 1200 at idle and starup ,, initially I thought it would be the PCV ,, and the reason I figured that was the issue is because when I unplug the passenger side rear PCV hose ,, the car idles fine and the RPM is steady ,, so I replaced the Valve cover with the aftermarket Megaplast one that came from HK.. I am not sure if there is another valve or something that I need to look at ,, The suction is so high at the rear PCV hose that when I plug it into the Valve cover it feels like it is sucking so hard that the RPM flutters and the engine feels like it will die ,, .. Has anyone faced such an issue and can you shed some light on how to fix this ,, thank you .

 

did the new valve cover fix the issue?

when i bought this after marker VC from china, it worked fine for a while then it seemed to allow more air inside the engine and eventually got a CEL.

 

I had to replace the pcv hose which was cracked in multiple places ,, ,, I put everything back and it seems to work just fine ,, ofcourse time will tell ,, I still want to add an oil catch can ,, any recommendations on brand or part number would speed up my purchase ,, and also want to replace the break pump as it has oil stains on it ..
