Bypass Valve Mod to boost signal

Bypass Valve Mod to boost signal
New to the forum and new to the Mini. I bought an 04 S for my daughter and currently working on replacing the clutch. Car drives fine except for the clutch and some suspension moans and creeks.
I went ahead and removed the TB and intake air duct to reach some of the bolts. Noticed a couple things.
The vacuum line coming from the base of the bypass valve was disconnected from the bypass solenoid and plugged with a golf tee.
The hose going into the solenoid comes from the intake next to the head (after 2 T's). So this vacuum signal was moved from the normal upstream (before the supercharger) to downstream (where it now reads boost and vacuum).
Is this a typical mod and is it ok for the bypass valve? I found something at another site but the post was pretty old.
For additional information on this:
1. vac/boost from intake manifold goes to a T.
2. One side goes to the fuel pressure regulator
3. other side goes to another T.
4. The second T, one side goes to the bypass valve
5. and the other side is plugged off.
6. Then of course the vacuum line from the base of the bypass valve is plugged as well.
It seems ok but just want a second opinion. The only thing that bothers me is the solenoid seeing boost but it still appears to be operating correctly.
I am the 3rd owner and the guy I bought it from didn't even know anything about cars so he was no help.

Guessing at .5 in your list they used to have a boost gauge in the car but kept it.
This routing of the vac lines for the bypass valve is supposed to give a more accurate vac/boost pressures to the bypass valve and make the bypass valve more responsive.
There's a writeup in the how to section for this mod.
Some say it helps, some say it makes no difference.
May be a butt dyno thing, as there was no measurable statistics posted. Just theories as to why its better.
Welcome to the MINI life lol
