Intake Boot - Air filter to Throttle Housing

Good Day,

Replacing the above, should I look for new clamps at the same time or just re-use what is on the vehicle?

The vehicle is '04 with 168,000 miles on it. I became the owner a few weeks ago and am slowly going over the car.

Thanks,

CAB813

You can remove the air filter without removing the clamps. It's tricky but do-able.
However, if you do remove the OEM clamps, you'll have to replace them.
If they're just some generic screw-on hose clamps, just reuse them.

Are they worm drive clamps with a screw or the euro clamps that require a special tool (the upper one is easier to reset without the tool then the lower one as you can get to it)?

I believe they are the original with the special tool. I am sure I can get them off and then replace them with regular hose clamps.

Thanks guys.

The stock clamps snap right back together using just a pair of pliers. This is how we do it in the shop. There are special pliers that can be used, but I don't even own them as they aren't necessary.

If you go with an aftermarket hose then use the worm clamps that will be larger to fit the new hose.
