Timing Chain Tensioner

Timing Chain Tensioner
Possibly my dumbest question yet!
Replaced my timing chain tensioner on my "S" for safety maintenance reasons. The tensioner that came out of the car was 82mm long. The new one I put in was 94mm long.
Was wondering if I should take out the 94mm and put back an 82mm?
Any thoughts?

Okay I believe there are two different lengths of tensioner based upon what level of update you perform on your Mini. IFRC if you don't change the chain then you pick a certain length tensioner and if you change the chain then you pick the other length. I would hit ECS up on which is the correct one for your vehicle where you have not changed the timing chain. By the way it is not a dumb question.

Great no worries then. I replaced mine with a new one from BMW/mini and it was slightly longer than the original. Mini on!!!!
