Oil in the intake manifold after Alta filter cleaning/oiling

Hello

After 3+ years of daily use, I decided to clean the Alta foam filer with the Uni cleaner kit. Looks like the oiling went a bit overboard, I can see traces of oil on the MAP sensor. I wiped off excess oil from the filter, but is there a way to clean the inside of intake manifold (without disassembling) ? Or just ;eave it alone so it will self clean by the airflow? Thanks for any advise!

You will be fine since it’s a 1st gen without a MAF sensor. If you want you can take it apart and clean up the thin layer of oil.

I use a K&N dry filter and clean it yearly and do not use oil at all.

Hi Dave, Thanks for the reply! I appreciate it. However, it looks like I opened a few can of worms by doing the excess oiling of the foam filter. Car is running like crap ; sputters and misfires after around 3.5k rpm. I went ahead and took out the intercooler. It's full of oil! Looks like MAP sensor is shot as well, as it has oil in it too. :(

It may not be filter oil. Filter oil is very sticky, if the oil in the IC is slippery you have an excess of blowby from PCV.
And the filters need a cleaning yearly at a minimum.
