Where does this go?

This thing (photo attachment) fell from under the passenger side of the car and I didn't see where it came from. Where does it go?

Is there any part numbers on the item? Where on the passanger side was it found? Was it inside or outside of the car? Any additional information that you can give would help in indentifing the part.

Can probably pull it up on Realoem but the manner in that they have the categories setup it is not always easy trying to figure out where to look for certain items.

Would think it has something to do with the air/heat system.

I had to clean it off to reveal the part numbers.

Side A:
  • MINI 2891A VRT
Side B:
  • ZP
  • >PA66<
  • 6 757 889
It found it on the ground behind the lower control arm.

~3.75" long, ~3/8" ID at the bulge end, ~3/4" at the flare end. The piece is a clamshell with a hinge in the bulge part. Seems like a protective cover for something. . haven't poked around to find a home for it.

I don't think so. I don't see any vents in the compartment. I haven't been able to run a vin check and find out which options this car has.

It goes on the fuel line where the line makes the bend on the strut tower going toward the engine on pass side.

Thank you!

The piece protects the soft fuel line from the upper engine mount. The small end fits over the hard line, bulge over the crimp fitting, and the bend follows the hose toward the engine.
