car turns over but won't start
Hi all. My wife's 2009 clubman is giving me problems. My son was driving the car and as he was pulling out of a parking lot, the car just stalled. We were able to get it started -- it bucked a bit but we were able to get it back into a parking stall to wait for the tow home. I got codes for several cylinder misfires. I changed all 4 coil packs and spark plugs. Car would turn over but not start. I changed the Crank Timing Sensor -- still no start. I replaced the relays -- still no start. I couldn't find any blown fuses, but maybe I missed some. What do I do next? Thanks.

Similar thing happened to my 2009 Cooper S last winter when it was really cold. It cranked but wouldn't start for two days. It was flooded due to carbon buildup on the valves. Not enough air coming in while cranking causes it to flood the cylinders with fuel. I got it to start using quick start, then did a carbon cleaning and it's been fine ever since.

I will check the timing when I get a chance to pull off the valve cover. I tried to start the car with ether yesterday, but it just cranked over and did not start.
Somebody mentioned that perhaps the key lost its memory and is not being read by the computer. Is that possible that it would happen to both keys? If so, can I reprogram the keys?
Thanks,
Walter
