Removing BPV

I'm new to the mini scene but I consider myself pretty good with cars in general.

I took it apart yesterday to try and do the vacuum mod. My BPV looks like it could be the original with 130k on it. Only reason I think that is because of the big rubber hose at the bottom. Has factory style clamps on it and the rubber looks dry rotted and cracked.

Do I need to cut these clamps off?

If you are referring to the Vaccum Gain System(VGS) modification, then you shouldn't be removing the BPV at all.

For whatever reason you are removing the BPV, you do not need to cut the factory clamps. They are easy to pop off with a flathead, then replace with hose clamps.

If I replace it, that's why I was asking.

As far as the vacuum mod, there is already a T at the FPR where a boost gauge has been tapped in. So I didn't know where to put another T for the vacuum mod.

I tapped in Over on the left side of the intake manifold. Now my vacuum at idle is only 5 and boost only hits 4psi.

This morning I went out and changed everything. The T fitting that the boost gauge was screwed onto had no thread tape and it was loose. I removed that T and put it on the left side of the intake manifold. I then put a T at the FPR and ran a line to the BPV also.

Now I'm reading 20+ vacuum and 10 boost. It should put out more than 10psi though, right? The gauge is an autometer. Can't remember the model of it though. If my intercooler couplers are leaking, that's where I may be loosing boost? Any tricks to get them tighter?

Vaccum looks about right. What pulley's are you running? With a 15% SC and 2% crank I see ~16psi WOT @ redline.

Pretty sure everything else is stock. I think the only upgrades are the Alta CAI, catback, and coilovers.

Without pulleys it looks like you are right on the money.
